Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

AMAL FELLOWSHIP; a journey full of lessons and cherishing memories, a part of life full of learning experiences and unforgettable moments, a family full of amazing and supportive PM, PAM, and fellows.

This 3-months long fellowship was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Starting from applying for it to the end of my last session was something I will never forget in my life. Applying for it wasn’t difficult, but waiting for the selection emails was something I waited impatiently till the selection call by my Program Manager, Sir Zaki Hyder Bihan.

My last session at AMAL was full of beautiful memories. We have never met each other personally, but I felt the sadness behind the beautiful smiling faces on my laptop screen. Going to breakout rooms, playing games, doing fun activities, sharing so many beautiful stories with each other, and last but not least amazing songs by Sir Zaki were something I will always miss in the future. That day, nobody wanted to leave the session on their own. Everybody gave the full of love goodbye messages to each other. A wholesome goodbye letter by Sir Zaki and a speech full of intimacy by Maam Iqra were the best part of that last session. At the end of the session, we took a group picture with the graduation hat’s filter on zoom.

The main lesson that I learned that day was every end is the sign of a new beginning and everything that happens in your life has a purpose behind it. You can’t do anything smoothly in your life if you keep on looking back into your past. Learn from the experiences of the past and live your present to your fullest and keep doing what you are doing with sincerity to build a successful future ahead. Assist others, show gratitude to them, make them feel special and appreciated and live and love yourself.

The best part of this whole fellowship was that nobody there disgraces someone, rather than this, everybody encourages each other and makes them feel special and appreciated. We shared our past experiences and hard times with each other so openly just like best friends or family members do.

In the end, I just want to say thanks to my PM, PAM, and all of my fellows at AMAL who helped me to know myself and assisted me to become a better person.

“So, old friends, now it’s time to start growing up, taking charge, seeing things as they are, facing facts, not escaping them, still with dreams, just reshaping them, growing up.”

– Stephen Sondheim
